While we cannot both be open to the public and also prevent 100% of all germs from spreading, we are proud and confident in the policies and procedures we have put in place that meet or exceed all government recommendations and CDC guidelines. For these precautions to be as effective as possible, it will require the support and participation of the entire Black Hills Gymnastics community.
We are so excited to be unshuttering. We will be achieving this by turning a dial not a light switch to ensure our 3 pillars of responsiblity are achieved.
Regardless of what phase we are in, maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all of our students and families is going to take work and cooperation from our staff, athletes, and parents. We need every family to do their part to practice good hygiene, follow our policies and procedures, and be patient and supportive of our athletes and coaches during this time. This is a stressful, unprecedented, and challenging situation for all of us. It is important to remember we all share the same goal, a safe return of our children’s lives to a sense of normalcy.
The official guidance for gymnastics and indoor-youth sports programs from the government is not very detailed at this time. Black Hills Gymnastics has been working with a very tight team within every part of this pandemic. The team consists of 2 experts in the field of medicine one of which is an infectious disease Dr, USA Gymnastics (our national governing body), our CEO is also a leader in the field of this sport and has been asked to be a part of the industry's route from COVID19.
Using these resources as well as the CDC guidelines, BHG has created a customized and comprehensive set of policies and procedures with three phases of unshuttering. All of which are state mandated and approved from the Governor's office. Each color has different amounts of precaution and risk management. The Green phase will be the closest to being what Black Hills Gymnastics was in regards to volume and variety of activity in its building prior to the pandemic.
